Brand builder, strategist, & a story-teller specializing in consumer brands
Avantika brings 20+years of Consumer Brand Marketing & Business Strategy experience with a unique blend of big CPG (Nestle) classical brand marketing, managing global $1B+ brands to building entrepreneurial startups, and everything in-between. Her experience spans over food & beverage, beauty, vitamins & wellness industry sectors.
Avantika is currently Vice President of Marketing for Desi Fresh Foods, LLC., a Private Equity-owned Indian Food & Beverage Company, based in Long Island, NY. She heads up Brand Marketing & Product Innovation for both it’s portfolio brands - Desi Natural (#1 Indian Dahi Yogurt brand in ethnic channel), and NOGA (#1 Indian Dahi Yogurt brand @ Costco), rapidly growing and expanding into multiple categories and channels (Grocery & Mass).
Prior to that, Avantika spent 10+years at Nestle (the world’s largest food & beverage company), managing global brand powerhouses such as Nescafe, Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine & Gerber Baby Food. As the Innovation Lead for Nestle USA, she led development of Nestle’s Ready-to-Drink beverage portfolio through brand expansions, new brand innovation, and acquisitions.
And, more recently, as the Head of Brand for Megafood (a mission-based, B-corp, premium Vitamins & supplements brand) she led a massive brand repositioning initiative, driving double-digit growth and leading expansion beyond Natural Channel, into e-commerce (AMAZON) & mass grocery retail (Target) channels. Avantika led the brand’s first-ever Masterbrand Advertising and Influencer Campaign doubling Aided Brand Awareness.
In addition to big corporate leadership roles, Avantika has ventured into more entrepreneurial roles. As the Head of Marketing & Strategy for an early-stage beauty startup (SEEN Hair care), she helped build foundational elements of the brand - “The Brand Experience Book” -mission, personality, vision, and voice. She enabled their digital marketing and influencer campaign strategy, including a couple of successful partnership elements with the Kardashians, to set the foundation for exponential audience & brand growth.
She has also advised several Private Equity backed consumer startups on brand building and portfolio development in several industries.
Avantika has a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from University of Massachusetts – Amherst, and MBA from University of Virginia, Darden School of Business.
Avantika is a conceptual thinker and loves connecting the dots to see patterns emerge. She has a pulse on emerging consumer trends and loves the anthropological aspects of brands. A skilled leader and collaborator, adept at leveraging a growth mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit. She is well-versed in building connections across multiple facets of the CPG industry, aligning stakeholders, and managing complex cross-functional teams to drive new market opportunities.
In her free time, Avantika is also an avid fiction reader, doodler, traveler, photographer and a culinary enthusiast.
